  • Mark II (1969–1973): This lineup included Ian Gillan (vocals) and Roger Glover (bass), who replaced Evans and Simper, respectively. This group is often lauded as the band’s most commercially successful.
  • Mark III (1973–1975): Featured David Coverdale (vocals) and Glenn Hughes (bass), who replaced Gillan and Glover.
  • Mark IV (1975–1976): Introduced Tommy Bolin, replacing Blackmore, during a tumultuous period that led to the band’s initial disbanding in 1976.

After a brief hiatus from 1976 to 1984, Deep Purple reformed with the Mark II lineup but continued to experience changes, including Gillan’s departure in 1989, followed by various shifts until stabilizing with the current lineup in 2002, featuring Paice, Glover, Gillan, Don Airey, and Simon McBride.

Deep Purple’s impact on rock music has been recognized through numerous accolades.
